Friends, family, and followers-
Nick and I will be embarking on a journey from California to (Maine?) starting on May 31st, 2012. We have been preparing for this trip for the last 6+ months and have put a lot of time and effort into this. We have created this blog so you can track us along the way. We may not be able to update it every day, but we will try our best.
Now you may be wondering to yourselves: what in the hell are these guys thinking, just up and leaving their jobs? Steve is in school, doesn't he need the money to pay for his Ramen noodles next semester? What about Nick? Doesn't he need to learn how to shave before he pedals a bicycle further than most people drive in a three month span? Well, our trip is not intended to prove anything to anyone, nor is it for our health (well, that's one of the benefits!). We are taking this trip so that we may live while we are young and in good health, as well as see parts of the country we have never seen before, meet awesome people, and most importantly, release from our everyday lives that sometimes blinds and gets us caught up in a repetitive cycle.
We have a tall order ahead of us, but we know we can handle it. We hope to keep you guys up to date as much as possible. But this is only our account of one summer of our lives and we want you all to share it with us. My best piece of advice for everyone: don't worry about us. I promise that I'll get back in one piece. Even if that means I have to strap Nick to my back rack for the rest of the trip after the first hill!
